Design and Build
The Wáberer Sports Center, the sports facility of Sárospataki Református Kollégium, was inaugurated on June 24, 2018. The investment of 1.3 billion HUF was financed 70% by TAO support, with the remaining amount coming from donations by alumni György Wáberer and József Sándor, as well as honorary alumnus István Derczó, the owner and general manager of Weinberg. This modern sports hall, covering 3,183 square meters, is suitable for hosting international handball and basketball matches and features a mobile, electrically-operated seating capacity of 850. Additionally, it serves as the regular venue for the school’s physical education classes, allowing for up to three classes to be held simultaneously without disruption. Thanks to precise and efficient construction, the sports facility was completed within one year from the laying of the foundation stone.
