Our first steel structure assignment was the manufacturing of the steel framework for the Szomorka stream bicycle bridge, completed in 2020. This impressive bridge is a striking element of the bicycle path, fabricated and surface-treated at our facility in Sárospatak before being transported to the installation site. The welding technology employed for the bridge structure introduced a new procedural standard within our manufacturing plant. Unlike standard steel structures, the welding of the bridge required simultaneous application of various welding techniques. The most significant challenge arose from the bridge’s “soul,” the arch main beam. Due to varying bending radii and different wall thicknesses, the calibration of the pipes during the assembly of the arch beam segments presented highly demanding technical solutions for our experienced steel structure manufacturing specialists. This project not only marked a milestone in our portfolio but also showcased our ability to tackle complex engineering challenges with innovative solutions.
