The House of Hungarian Music won the Oscar for real estate with a unanimous vote

The steel frame of the roof structure was made by Weinberg Kft.

For the first time in the three-decade history of the most prestigious international real estate award, the MIPIM Awards, Hungarian development received the main prize of the jury.

The main prize of the jury was won by the House of Hungarian Music implemented within the framework of the Liget Budapest Project on March 17, 2022 in Cannes, at the world's largest and most prestigious real estate exhibition, MIPIM - announced László Baán, Ministerial Commissioner of the Liget Budapest Projekt.

The international professional gremium placed the Hungarian House of Music in front of the field featuring the best buildings in the world and awarded it with the grand prize of the jury by a unanimous vote.

The decision-making committee of international experts awarded the special building designed by the Japanese star architect Sou Fujimoto and constructed by Magyar Építő Zrt.  to be the best in the world in terms of sustainability, aesthetics and visitor experience.

The jury does not award the grand prize every year

With the main prize of the MIPIM Awards, the Hungarian House of Music achieved one of the greatest international successes of Hungarian real estate development, and it became one of the most acclaimed buildings in Hungary. Previously, it was recognized as one of the best at the prestigious London International Property Awards and the American Music Cities Awards, while CNN, World Architecture or the leading international program guide TimeOut magazine ranked it among the most anticipated buildings in the world.

This year, the gremium awarded its grand prize to hundreds of contestants from around the world for sustainability, aesthetics and an easily accessible, special visitor experience. ” - emphasized Benedek Gyorgyevics, CEO of Városliget Zrt., responsible for the implementation of the Liget Budapest Project. The popularity of the Cannes trade fair is marked by the fact that 3,800 exhibitors from around 100 countries take part in it every year.

The steel frame of the roof structure was made by Weinberg Kft., the reinforced concrete structure was made by Épszerk-Pannónia Invest, and the glass elements were made by Orosházaglas Kft. The Hungarian design partner of Sou Fujimoto was M-Teampannon Kft.
