The House of Hungarian Music finished in second place before world sensations

One of the most significant international program magazines, Time Out, has chosen the House of Hungarian Music, built by Magyar Építő and having a unique structure in the world, as one of the 22 best cultural attractions in the world in 2022.

The top list, in which the Hungarian Music House implemented in the Liget Budapest project took second place, brought together the novelties that Time Out offers to international tourism as outstanding new venues and events of the new year – announced in its statement the Városliget Zrt.

The summary recalls that the facility finished in second place ahead of world cultural sensations such as the Museum of Broadway in New York, the Museum of Modern Art in Istanbul, the Art Center of Taiwan and the Great Egyptian Museum in Cairo, with all the finds from Tutankhamun’s tomb.

The magazine ranked first the Paris museum, which presents the oeuvre of the French singer-composer Serge Gainsbourg. Due to its appearance, it was among the most anticipated buildings

As our newspaper has reported many times, the spectacular building of the Hungarian House of Music, built with the construction of Magyar Építő Zrt., with a unique structure in the world was presented to the public on 16th December in the Városliget in the capital. According to the information handed out on the spot, the building, created according to the plans of Sou Fujimoto within the framework of the Liget Budapest project, will open its doors at the end of January with an exhibition and music programs.

Óbuda-Újlak Zrt. and Főber Zrt. performed the operational and technical inspection tasks of the complex. The steel frame of the complex roof structure was made by Weinberg Kft., the reinforced concrete structure was manufactured by Épszerk-Pannónia Invest, and the glass elements were manufactured by Orosházaglas Kft. The Hungarian design partner of Sou Fujimoto was M-Teampannon Kft.

Designed by the Japanese star architect, the house offers an unmistakable view with its organically undulating, perforated roof structure and huge glass walls, and it is no coincidence that it is one of the most anticipated new buildings in the world

- written in the official communication.

From the very beginning, the remarkable contemporary building has been surrounded by serious attention

Tucked away among the trees of the Városliget, the new institution, which is in special harmony with its environment, will offer visitors countless music experiences from the beginning of next year.

The Hungarian House of Music was built on the site of the former dilapidated Hungexpo office buildings, and a green area of about 7,000 square meters, which has been closed and neglected for decades in the vicinity of the new building, has been renewed and becomes the free park area of Városliget again.

The official communication recalls that

this is not the first time that the international profession has been paying attention to the building of the Hungarian House of Music: both CNN and the World Architecture Community (WAC) have declared it one of the most anticipated new buildings of 2021.

The house based on its designs was already chosen as the best public building in Europe in 2019 at the prestigious London International Property Awards, one of the biggest, widely recognized recognitions in the real estate industry. In 2020, he received the main prize for the development of the world's best music-themed development: in the American Music Cities Awards, for the best music-themed real estate development award.
